The recently released annual "State of American Energy Report" prepared b the American Petroleum Institute includes, for the first time ever, a comprehensive section on the rapid growth of the U.s. solar energy industry and its impact on our nation's economy and environment.  The report included an assist from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

A team from the University of Arizona and eight Southwestern electric utility companies has built a web portal that provides insight into renewable energy sources and how they contribute to the region's electricity grid.  The new tool will help utility companies better understand the long-term impact of renewable energy on the power grid and provide insight on how to integrate these resources in the future in the most cost-efficient and reliable way for consumers.
